Somethings are hard to recreate...

There is a 26 year difference in these pictures.  Can you guess who is who?
This was our 30th Anniversary gift to each other, and night out on "The Cincinnati Dinner Train".  We had a wonderful time, delicious food aboard a 1946 train.  It was awesome, and we hope to do it again in the future. cincinnatidinnertrain.com

30

Thirty years ago today, I married my best friend.  It was on a Monday morning at approx. 9:30 A.M. in Downtown Columbus at the County Court House.  Judge Howard Johnson presided over the festivities.  It was a small intimate gathering with just our families, but it meant the world to us.

Look at us today and you'll find two of the happiest people, just as we were on that day.  Still best friends and still very much in love.

Thank you my darling Ric for our wonderful life together.  I can't wait to see what the next 30+ will be like...

Guess what I am?

Wine a bit, you'll feel better...

Today while looking for the perfect card (Have you ever seen Kevin James do his comic routine of searching for the perfect card?  It screams me), I came across this perfect one and thought I'd share it with you.  Enjoy!

Donations

I like to donate, just as much as the next guy, but I must complain NOW, that I think it's gotten out of hand and I feel as though I'm being stalked by "Donation Collectors".  You see I went through a period (last year) where I felt it was my duty to donate to just about every charity that came in the mail.  You know the ones, where they send you those address labels.  So considering the State of the Economy, I decided to whittle it down to only 3.  Well now it seems as though they call you on the phone, stick coins in their mailings, add in note pads, book markers, and ARGH!............Where does it end?
So as I said, it seems as though we are being stalked by these damn "Donation Collectors", and we can't get away.  Hmmm, I wonder "This won't go on our credit report will it?"  I mean I know times are tough, trust me WE know, but give me a break.  Help stop the madness...

Foxy Lady

Thought I'd share another of Beth's pictures.  "Foxy Lady"

Seeing double...

My cousin, Beth took this picture of a Double Rainbow.  Isn't it amazing?  She said she has seen at least 3 of these so far this Summer.  They live in Northern Maine, which is deffinately "God's Country".

Gulf awash in 27,000 abandoned wells

More than 27,000 abandoned oil and gas wells lurk in the hard rock beneath the Gulf of Mexico, an environmental minefield that has been ignored for decades. No one — not industry, not government — is checking to see if they are leaking, an Associated Press investigation shows.

The oldest of these wells were abandoned in the late 1940s, raising the prospect that many deteriorating sealing jobs are already failing.

The AP investigation uncovered particular concern with 3,500 of the neglected wells — those characterized in federal government records as "temporarily abandoned."

Regulations for temporarily abandoned wells require oil companies to present plans to reuse or permanently plug such wells within a year, but the AP found that the rule is routinely circumvented, and that more than 1,000 wells have lingered in that unfinished condition for more than a decade. About three-quarters of temporarily abandoned wells have been left in that status for more than a year, and many since the 1950s and 1960s — eveb though sealing procedures for temporary abandonment are not as stringent as those for permanent closures.

As a forceful reminder of the potential harm, the well beneath BP's

Deepwater Horizon rig was being sealed with cement for temporary abandonment when it blew April 20, leading to one of the worst environmental disasters in the nation's history. BP alone has abandoned about 600 wells in the Gulf, according to government data.

Poor Little Lindsey

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - A judge sentenced Lindsay Lohan on Tuesday to 90 days in jail and an inpatient rehab program after finding the actress had violated the terms of her probation in a 2007 drug case.

The actress immediately burst into tears after the ruling.  (Ha!)

Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel issued the sentence after listening to testimony from employees of an alcohol treatment program that Lohan had been ordered to attend.

Lohan missed seven classes since December, which led to the judge's harsh rebuke of Lohan moments after the "Mean Girls" star offered a tearful apology.

"I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up," Lohan told the judge. "It wasn't vacation, it wasn't some sort of a joke."

Revel said she found Lohan's apology insincere, comparing it to "somebody who cheats and thinks it isn't cheating if she doesn't get caught."  (Way to go Judge.)

Can I just say "It's about time."  Maybe now she'll straighten herself up.  And maybe too, they should throw her parents in with her for good measure, they could really use a good smack down...

Stay tuned.
