$5,000.00 Instant Giveaway

US Bank has been having a $5,000.00 Instant Giveaway, with $250.00 given away daily, if you sign up for it.  So of course, I've signed in daily to try winning.  The only problem is, is that they call you by phone.  Well since we are stalked daily by the 800 & 866 numbers, we do not answer the phone.  There are times when you might give in and bam it's the "Donator" stalkers wanting our money.  If they can't get you by mail (4 to 5 a day...), they try other tactics, such as the phone.  Preying on the public in the privacy of their own home.  Argh, I'm trapped.  The problem is we could have been called by the US Bankers as a winner and didn't answer because of the 800 number.

Guess we'll have to give in and answer now, but I must confess "I hate to hang up on people".

Face lift surgery

I've recently heard that there is a new less invasive Face Lift surgery out there, that goes just under the jaw line.  They basically insert a string, which is tied off at the ends of the jaw line, then pull it tightly, then walla instant face lift. You can have it tightened any time you want.

Okay, but what happens when you string breaks, and your face droops of a sudden.  I mean seriously, my under wire brook the other day at work, and need I say more...

Relationships

I have a confession to make, and it's a biggie to:  I've been having a relationship with Amazon.  That's right, I'm addicted to "The Deal of the day" or any other day for that matter.  What ever it is, I'm there with the click of my mouse.  My husband tried to tell me, but I insisted "Your crazy", but I've come to the realization that he could possibly be right.  Maybe it's because we are getting less and less Christmas cards in the mail, so I've decided to make my own mail.

There's nothing like the feeling when all of a sudden the dogs start to bark,  and hard knock at the door, then a Va-room of the UPS truck going down the road.  Then you open the door and what do your wondering eyes should appear, but a package with a smile on it waiting you there.  Then I bring it inside after peering around to make sure that the neighbors will not be around.  While closing the door quickly, and clutching my bag, I open the box and pull out the stash.  Ahhh, relief.  I can hardly wait until tomorrow when I can do it all over again.

Christmas, my time of year...

CRS crisis

Today I decided to get my holiday purchases organized and see just what I have, don't have, and what the "H" have I done...  I figure it's all in my head as to where it is, now I just need to find it all.  I had to laugh, because it reminded me of Chevy Chase  in National Lampoon's Family Christmas, when he goes up in the attic to hide his gifts, and finds others he had forgotten years ago.  It was a crazy search, but I think I finally found everything (I hope).

Now it's time to wrap, ugh...

Tree Lights

Today, Bowyn and I decided to put up the Christmas Tree, or at least start the process anyways.  Everyone knows what a chore it is to drag all your stuff out and go through it.  It takes a lot of time, patience and days to get everything just the way you like it (that's if your as OCD as I am that is...).  It's all well and good and so absolutely beautiful when it's all done.  I just love it.

BUT, what I do hate are LIGHTS that don't work.  Can you tell I'm angry about this?  You know how hard it is to find just one bulb out of a whole strand that's out?  Almost impossible.  And what's the point of all those stupid extras they give you if you can't find it?  Here's and sxample:  Bowyn put up his little tree and decorated in all by himself, it is so cute he did such a great job, but guess what?  That's right the stupid lights aren't working.  I sat there on the floor for a good 1/2 hr. trying to find the culprit, and never could.  I was ready to drop kick it out the door (Hot flash approaching...).  I'll get back to it later.

Well last year we purchased 2 pre-lit tree's in planters just for the beautiful ambiance they posses, and don't you know one is out now.  Ugh, I feel like Charlie Brown, nothing is going right.

Can't they make life time lights, like the forever stamp?

So I decided to tackle the Big tree lights later after I've calmed down (just so you know, we do check them before we put them on the tree, but even that doesn't work sometimes).  Just a Pre-warning though, if you read in the paper that some woman in Northern Kentucky lost her mind over Tree Lights, you'll know who it is.

PS) Have a nice day.

I love to get (Good) mail

Yesterday, I received a package from my niece Nina, which were cards that I had purchased off of her new store located at www.esty.com.  I was as giddy as a school girl, the excitement was so overwhelming.  I carefully opened the package as not to tear anything, and WOW they were as beautiful in my hand as they were on the site.  She does a fabulous job.  It's such a blessing to be so talented, I'm just happy that she's finally selling them.

I'm such a kook when it comes to cards, just ask anyone that knows me.  Check out the site, it's great and there are lots of vendors that sell their stuff on there too.

Halloween and Weddings

As you know, Sunday was Halloween, but it was also my nephew Jay's wedding.  He married a beautiful girl named Carly in what was set-up as a Haunted Wedding surrounding.  It was so amazing the way they had it all set up.  Totally unique.  I must say, I didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful event.  The air was chilly, but the homemade Vegetable soup, which was placed in carved out pumpkins, totally took the chill away, along with cups of coffee and hot chocolate.  To top it off the ceremony was so lovely and intimate, with the Bride and Groom, down by the rivers edge with Carly's mother Pam presiding over the nuptials, with an awesome sunset through the trees, splashing across the field behind them.  All this while friends and families huddled by a warm fire to lend witness the event.

It was perfect and I wish them all the happiness in the world.

Senior Citizen Care and Coroporate Greed

I've decided to give my service in helping out with the shortage of care givers where I work, and am furious, nay OUTRAGED, that some of the hardest working people in the Senior Care Services, make some of the lowest wages.  Note that this is across the board in America.  They are extremely under staffed, over worked, under payed, and under appreciated by the Corporations they work for.

Senior Care Services are one of the fastest growing over all markets in America, but the Corporate Greed is and will continue to put our Seniors at risk for abuse and or minimal care due to the lack of care and consideration of the Care Givers.  They are the ones that spend most of the time with our Seniors, NOT upper management.  They just book the sale, then move onto the next person.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE where I work, the people are good but the Seniors are AWESOME.  Our caregivers are Great and they love the Seniors they care for everyday.  It's just so unjust that they are some of the lowest paid employees out there, but yet do the HARDEST and some times dirtiest work.  Those in Corporate America need to make some conscious changes in the way they operate, in order to REALLY GIVE THE BEST SENIOR CARE AVAILABLE TO ALL PEOPLE OF EVERY SOCIAL BACKGROUND.

It's not about who makes the most money, it's about team work, customer service, care and support for all employees across the board, so that as a TEAM we give the BEST CARE to our Seniors as well as our employees.

This is SuzView after all...
